How to make a door kick plate

Your premises are subject to intense traffic and your doors are constantly in use? That's it, it's decided, you're going to make them a door protection plate to extend their lifespan! Discover how to do it with the John Steel configurator. A real piece of cake!

What metal for a door protection plate?

Your door protection will be installed vertically, so it is recommended to choose a metal with a low thickness to facilitate the plate's adhesion.
Regarding the material, we generally turn to stainless steel, which is the hygienic metal par excellence. 304L stainless steel or 316L stainless steel are ideal for food-contact areas, medical or clean rooms. If you are looking for a slightly more aesthetic effect, you could also opt for brushed stainless steel.

To make a push plate or a protection plate around the door handle, and since this is where you freely leave all your little fingerprints, you can also choose anti-fingerprint aluminium. Indeed, this is THE area of the door that is constantly used, especially in a high-traffic location. By choosing anti-fingerprint aluminium, you can combine several advantages: aesthetics, hygiene, no fingerprints, and door protection.

What shape for my door protection plate?

It all depends on the area you want to protect on your door:

Choose a semi-circular protection plate to protect the handle area
Opt for a rectangular protection plate to protect the lower part of the door (kicks, shoe scuffs, dirt, etc.)
Choose a rectangular plate to protect the door at mid-height (opening/closing pushes, passage of trolleys or other handled items)

Bonjour , je suis apprêt repeindre ma porte de grange en chêne artisanale . Je suis à la recherche d'une protection comme ci-joint sur la 1ère photo . Pourrais-je en savoir plus sur ce que vous proposez . Mes portes mesurent 3x3.40 . Cordialement ME MARIAT
