Choosing the Right Material for Your Custom Splashback

Every kitchen has its own challenges: heat, steam, grease splashes, and decorative style. The two main material families available for a custom-cut kitchen splashback are stainless steel and aluminum.

  • Stainless Steel: Heat-resistant, non-porous, and easy to clean.
  • Aluminum: Offers an excellent strength-to-weight ratio and is highly cost-effective.

Brushed vs. Polished Stainless Steel: Which to Choose?

A brushed finish is better at concealing fingerprints and splashes, making it the ideal choice for busy kitchens. A polished finish (mirror effect) is highly decorative but more sensitive to marks and smudges.

Custom Splashbacks and Hob Compatibility

Installation can be done directly over existing tiles, provided they are clean and level. For maintenance, use a microfibre cloth. For brushed stainless steel, always wipe in the direction of the grain.
