Create professional custom metal signage

Which material to choose for a custom metal sign?

For a custom signage project, several options are available to you:

Raw and shiny stainless steel

An excellent material for business signage, the raw and shiny stainless steel plate, protected by a film is a durable solution. Belonging to the stainless steel family, 304L stainless steel is rust-resistant and therefore perfectly suited for outdoor use.

Its protective film ensures an aesthetic, scratch-free surface. For thickness, we recommend 1.5 mm; a thinner gauge would be too fragile.

Raw and shiny marine stainless steel

Also known as 316L stainless steel, it is less prone to scratching and highly resistant to corrosion. Also protected by a film for a flawless finish, it is preferred for use near the sea. Ideal if the metal sign will be exposed to high salinity. Available in a 2 mm thickness, suitable for a professional sign plate.

Anodized aluminum

Perfect for creating a professional plate, anodized aluminum sheet in 1.5 mm or 2 mm is an equally suitable and aesthetic alternative. Thanks to a protective film, it offers a finish suitable for all types of projects.

Galvanized steel

With a matte finish and a shiny appearance, the galvanized steel plate has a considerable advantage because it does not rust. However, over time it may dull, so it would be more suitable if you plan to paint it. A thickness of 1.5 mm to 2 mm is recommended.

Corten steel

For a sign plate, it is entirely possible to use a corten steel plate. This material has the particularity of oxidizing quickly to give your creation a rusted appearance. Original, however, it is not recommended for use in marine environments. A thickness of 1.5 mm will again be optimal.

Mirror stainless steel

304L mirror stainless steel is more commonly used indoors for displays, for example. If you wish to create your sign logo in mirror stainless steel, note that it is more fragile and prone to scratching. At 1.5 mm thick, it will still be very aesthetic.
