Wood DIY Month: Making a Decorative Wooden Hanging Planter for Plants? 🌿

Well-being in offices and interiors: because it is increasingly trendy to have plants indoors, it is however even more so to combine them with decorative objects or DIY creations. Living walls, cement pots or refurbished pallets, creativity leaves room for all possibilities. At John Steel, we love plants and for the well-being of the SteelTeam, John decided, in collaboration with the loyal and ingenious Brigitte, to bring a little greenery into this raw world.

DIY Tutorial of the Month: How to Make a Plant Hanger?

• Step 1: Measurements. 📐

First of all, to make sure everything fits well, it is important to have the pots beforehand. To start on a good footing, measure the diameter of your pot and keep it in the back of your mind. 💬

Now it's your turn, you need to decide on the size of the wooden supports for the pot. Don't hesitate to adapt it based on its use and especially your interior. Personally, I went with a rectangular fir wood board with dimensions of 40cm x 40 cm x 1.5 cm.

• Step 2: Configuration 🖥

Once step 1 is completed and your measurements are well defined, this is when the John Steel configurator comes into play. Choose your wood species based on your preference, the rest is child's play, all you have to do is configure your custom wood piece with your measurements (L x W; thickness but also your pot diameter to remove material).

• Step 3: Delivery 🚚

The serious stuff begins. Once your custom wood pieces have been delivered, the most fun part arrives. To make the hanger, however, don't forget one essential element: The rope.
