Jony is showing off big time

Hey Steelsters,

A few days ago, we wrote to ask for a little help in a friendly, local competition we were invited to, related to a website you might know, which we run and which focuses on online metal cutting (I hope I was clear).

Well, once again, your enthusiasm towards us surprised us and worked wonders, because we were named:

Winner of the Alsace Innovation Trophy 2013

Brigitte, your humble servant, and the Maurices therefore had to put away their work overalls to don suits of light and head to the capital (Strasbourg) to receive their awards and shake hands. So I ended up with a discreet red stain around my right wrist (for shaking with the right hand), but alas, I had to abandon my hope of wearing a tie (which according to Maurice are very overrated: even George Clooney doesn’t wear one anymore…).

We wanted to tell you that all of this is thanks to you, to your kind little messages, your orders, your encouragement. A year ago, I didn’t know where to find the Facebook program on my computer, and Brigitte didn’t know the difference between steel and stainless steel. Today we tweet, post, transform, and we seriously love it.

Attached is a photo of us after the awards ceremony (we were happy), in front of a giant pretzel that serves as a secret sign among Alsatians. You’ll notice our faces have been intentionally blurred to protect our secret identities.

In any case, rest assured, this morning we were back in our workshop, with the smell of scale and ferrite. I brought out my grinder, and everything is back to normal.

Brigitte and I just did a little Soul Train just to be sure we weren’t dreaming (check around 00:43).
