Get a clear answer: How do I create a DXF file?
Key points to remember
To create your DXF drawing, start by opening a CAD software of your choice (AutoCAD, LibreCAD, or Adobe Illustrator).
Then, set up your workspace and draw your part while following these guidelines:
-
Work at a 1
1 scale in millimetres (1 mm = 1 mm in real size)
-
Make sure your shape is closed, not just outlined with vectors
-
The width of your part should not be smaller than its thickness
-
If your part includes holes, their diameter must be greater than or equal to the thickness of the part
-
Once the design is finished, save it in DXF format
